However, had Black played the guzumi exchange earlier (or plays it now, with , , here), White's strongest option seems to be to play tenuki. With , Black gets two eyes on the right, and, with (= ), and , White has got two moves in a row elsewhere. In principle, this is similar to the situation in our solution, immediately after the guzumi, when White cannot play tenuki successfully ( 432).
