Joachim's Ko-Semeai - Putting the Cart
Before the Horse (2013 - 2015)
1b2c - Black Cannot Prevent White's Reversion
( 977) It will not benefit Black to pre-empt White's gote move in the hanezeki with the exchange of / . This exchange just loses a move for Black. However, as known already, White's gote move at was not correct. As far as the liberty count is concerned, we have the same situation as with the single throw-in, and White's mistake with the procedure to occupy Black's hanezeki-oriented liberty. We can expect White to need three atari-ko-threats to win. |
|
Therefore, it is a must for White to exchange / , and / , in sente, to have all hanezeki-oriented liberties of Black's group occupied. White saved her gote move, so we also have to take one of Black's stones () off the board for adjustment. |
|
White has six liberties now (3 * w, 3 * c), against seven liberties for Black's group (3 * c, 3 * b, k). This is the same situation as with White gaining a move ( 963) with the main line of the double throw-in. White will win unconditionally. |
