Variations of Our Solution (Ib)

KataGo's 2021 Solution

VAR (.3) (.4)

: ( 58dd)
Black connects, closing one of the holes in his formation.

:
White also connects, stopping Black from capturing any of her two stones at the bottom.

:
Black tries to immobilise White's stones at the right, and also to prepare the scene for creating an eye at the bottom, utilising the potential shortage of liberties of White's three stones at the left edge.

:
White is well aware of the latter, and occupies a liberty of Black's nakade stones.

: (A 58df)
Black tries to enhance his eye shape in the left centre.

Playing at , instead, will not work either.

:
White captures the nakade, in order to get rid of any restrictions for the movement of her stones.

:
As usual, Black ends in gote at the left edge.

:
White destroys one of Black's potential eyes in the left centre.

:
At the bottom, Black plays a preparatory move at the right, ...

:
... before securing an eye at the left.

:
However, Black ended in gote again, so White utilises this cut to spoil Black's shape in the left centre.

; :
These two moves are miai.

; :
As are and .

Black's large group at the left has only one eye, and so is dead.

:
Again, Black tries his luck in the Central Semeai, but will fail.

Please note that White's centre group has the capture of the hanezeki's tail with available in the case of emergency - should that ever be necessary.
Having captured Black's left-hand group is more than sufficient for her to win the game decisively.

White will win the game by a very large margin.
