However, some kind of protective move will be played later. This move pre-empts the usage of the atari of as a ko-threat, and is sufficient to win.

White will lose, is she tries to wait with playing a protective move after Black's connection of the hanezeki's tail.

Black has no ko-threats left, and so must connect the hanezeki's tail at a moment, when White's centre group still has five liberties left.

As usual with this condition, White wins the semeai by one move.

White could have done better technically with playing the protective move (= ) much earlier, and on the left side, erasing more than one of Black's potential ko-threats there.
