Black chooses a ko-threat in the hanezeki. This is also shown in the theory chapter as FLAG 4b1 ( 1021), with the "late" ko there, but which does not make a difference.

However, White's answer takes Black's group a liberty.

This enables White to play another protective move on the left side, now also erasing Black's remaining ko-threats there.

Black has run out of valid ko-threats, so White simply connects the ko.

As before, White wins the semeai by one move. Black's choice to exchange / in the hanezeki did not affect the outcome, but shortened the sequence only. This means that this exchange is not correct from the technically point of view.
