Variations of Our Solution (IIIb)

Tricking KataGo (Triple-Ko)

VAR (C) (A) (.2) (.2) (.2)

(.1)

: ( 222go)
White connects in the upper left corner.
This connection is sometimes favoured by KataGo (2020) with komi = 0.

White's connection does not lose a tempo in the Main Semeai, as it creates an approach-move liberty for her left-hand group.

For a more detailed analysis, please see the comparable position after the "early" capture of the nakade ( 222ia).

:
It is correct for Black to immediately block White's access to the corner.

:
White continues with the Main Semeai by connecting her single stone in the upper right.

Alternatively, she could also play the peep at at the upper edge, which will result in a change in the order of moves.

:
Black is able to push twice at the top, in sente. But he has to take his opportunity just now.

:
White has to be patient here. She must answer Black's push by the solid connection.

:
The Main Semeai continues.

In principle - with the exception of Black's block in the upper left corner - we have reached a change in the order of moves with the superordinate variation.

Capture Variation:

Compared to the superordinate variation ...

  • Black got an additional two points of territory in the upper left corner.

White lost two points.

Jigo => Black + 2
