2011 - The Correct Order of Moves at Top Right
Over a long period of time, we used a sequence as our standard procedure, in which - after the guzumi , and White's answer at - Black reduces White's corner with to , while threatening to make two eyes, and/or kill White's corner. The sequence in the centre from Black to , which we call the "Crosscut Sequence", follows afterwards. In the marked area () Black has 13 liberties, which he will need in the Semeai Variation later. This order of moves can be understood in the historical context. We found the guzumi first; and the hasami-tsuke second. | |
