2014 - The Lifespan of Black's Ko-Threats

in the Nakade is Finite

No Stand-Alone Accumulation of the

Nakade-Ko-Threats

(Referenced by 83)

Since the discovery of Joachim's Ko-Semeai we were very concerned, whether there might be additional ko-threats - irrespective from those in the nakade on the left side, e.g. the moves of the Hasami-Tsuke Sequence in the upper right, when held in reserve - that would benefit Black. But throughout this entire period of time, we were unable to find a theoretical toehold for developing a satisfying answer.

As we discovered now, there is no stand-alone accumulation of nakade-ko-threats with the rest of the board for Black, due to the very special characteristics of the hanezeki.
