Harry's Trade – A Tribute to AlphaGo (2017)
From 2015 to 2017, AlphaGo – an Artifical Intelligence solution from DeepMind Technologies Limited – not only managed to achieve the first win of a Go playing programme in an even game against a professional opponent – a performance that had been expected about ten years in the future. AlphaGo also reached an overall score of 72 to 1 against professional players – including most of the top ones from China, Japan and Korea. A specialty of her playing style were large exchanges / trades on the board that she could judge better than her human opponents. Harry found a mistaken timing of a forcing move in the hanezeki in the course of Our Solution (2015) which refutation all of a sudden reminded us of AlphaGo. | |
