Variations of Our Solution (I)

VAR

: ( 128)
KataGo starts with threatening White's eye shape at the top.

:
White blocks immediately.

: (92 128b)
After some kikashi that reduce White's group to a small eye, Black decides to attack at the top right.

Alternatively, Black might want to defend his upper left corner, with a move at , instead.

:
After the "usual" exchange of for , KataGo plays this surprising new move to attack Black's top left corner from the inside. White's lone -stone will become very helpful in this context.

: (99 128c, 96 128d, A 128g)
Black blocks at immediately.

Alternatively, he might consider playing at , , or , instead.

:
If Black gives atari at , instead, it will result a change in the order of moves after , , .

:
Black can only hope to win a ko fight in the corner.

Giving atari at (White will connect at ), instead, will lead to a similar result.

:
White starts the ko.

:
Capturing the tail will result in a sufficient amount of ko threats for White.
This extreme measure does not do any harm to White, as she is behind in the semeai between her centre group and Black's large group in the top right anyway.

:
Black has a lot of ko threats on the left side, because White cannot afford to lose her entire group there.

:
White continues with her ko threats in the lower right corner.

:
In return, Black uses his threats against White's group on the left side.

...

:
Black's previous ko threat was much too small. White connects the ko, so killing Black's entire top left corner.

It would not make a large difference, had Black decided to save his stones on the left edge, with a move at .

:
Additionally, White can capture Black's stones on the left edge.

:
Black is unable to kill White's entire top right corner.

White will win the game by more than 20 points.
