However, Black's move lost a dicisive liberty in the Centreal Semeai.

Black should have established a three-point eye for his right-hand group by connecting at . He would achieve a much better result than here.

Black is unable to give atari at in the centre.
If he played a viable ko threat, and recaptured at thereafter, White would capture at , and Black would be helpless again.

White will win the game by a very large margin.
