Immediately capturing the hanezeki's tail, instead, would lose two points unnecessarily.

With the exception of some initial moves, we have reached a change in the order of moves with the previous subvariation.
In comparison, Black captured an additional White stone in the upper left corner, but lost one point of territory in return, so the net effect is zero.

White will win the game by six points.
