White continues with the Main Semeai.

:
This move starts the endgame sequence that White will play after her decision point, to not give Black any chances.

Black must not play any reduction.

Please note that Black still must play in the upper left corner first, before occupying White's liberty with .

Due to the seki in the upper left corner, White will choose the Capture Variation.

Capture Variation:

Compared to the superordinate variation ...

  • Black destroyed one point of White's territory at the upper edge.
  • Black's cumulated gain in the left centre is one point.
  • Black did not destroy three points of White's territory in the guzumi area.

In total, White gained one point.
