Variations of Our Solution (IIIb)

Tricking KataGo (Triple-Ko)

VAR (C) (A) (.2) (.2) (.1)

(.2)

: ( 222bv)
Black descends to the upper edge in the corner, stopping White from playing another hane there.

: ( 119 222dn)
White's first idea is to keep Black par with the Punishment Semeai Liberty Level, so not giving Black any chances for seeking complications.

However, she should have pushed into Black's corner at the left edge, instead.

:
Black descends to the left edge, also blocking his upper left corner that will become a seki.

:
White continues with the Main Semeai.

:
White starts the endgame at the left side of the board.

:
Black simply connects.

Pushing at is miai, and would not affect the outcome of the game.

Black must not play any reduction.

Capture Variation:

Compared to the super²ordinate variation ...

  • White's cumulated gain in the upper left corner is eighteen points.
  • Black's cumulated gain at the upper edge is nine points.
  • Black did not destroy two points of White's territory at the top.
  • White did not capture Black's stone in the lower left, so losing two points.

In total, Black lost seven points.

Jigo => White + 7
