Variations of Our Solution (IIIb)

Tricking KataGo (Triple-Ko)

VAR (C) (A) (.2) (.2) (.2)

(.2)

White connects at the top.

:
Please note the decisive difference with the superordinate variation: Here, it is Black, who enforces the mutual creation of eyes in the right centre.

Please also note that Black takes himself two liberties in the Main Semeai. Therefore, he sets all his hopes on the semeai with White's centre group.

:
White's reply is forced.
She has to avoid me-ari-me-nashi in the centre.

:
Black throws-in, as usual, in order to create a false eye in White's formation, which will benefit Black in the Central Semeai.

:
Now, the time is ripe to give atari in the upper left corner.

Please note that White does not have the internal ko threat at here, contrary to the superordinate variation.

:
White plays an important kikashi at the upper edge, ...

:
... before arming the ko fight in the upper left corner.

:
Black forces in the centre.

:
And another time at the upper edge.

:
Thereafter, Black captures in the upper left corner.

:
White chooses one of various ways to create a triple-ko at the top.

:
Black starts the mutual ko captures.

:
White completes the triple-ko cycle.

Please note that neither side can deviate from this capturing sequence, in order to not lose the game.

The game will end with "no result" (Japanese rules).
