Variations of Our Solution (IIIb)

Tricking KataGo (Triple-Ko)

VAR (C) (A) (.2) (.1)

: ( 222ao)
White starts the endgame at the left side with the classical atari.

: (A 222eu)
After Black's block White plays the hane at the upper edge.

The wedge at is a surprising alternative suggestion of KataGo (2020), but which will not affect the outcome of the game.

:
As usual, Black plays tenuki at the lower edge to take the large point at the top, instead.

:
White's wedge in the left centre is quite surprising.
This movfe will destroy one point of Black's potential territory in the centre, without losing a tempo in the Main Semeai.

:
White plays KataGo's bad-shape move again.

:
Sooner or later, Black has to defend this cutting point.

:
The Main Semeai continues.

Black must not play any reduction.

After her decision point, White will block at at the top.

  • White destroyed two points of Black's territory in the left centre.
  • Black captured one White stone there, so gaining one point.
