Variations of Our Solution (III)

VAR (.2)

: ( 548k)
This solid connection is KataGo's preferred move.

:
White destroys two points of Black territory at the cost of only one Main Semeai Liberty.

: (127 548kka)
White continues with the standard move at the right side.

Connecting her single stone at the upper edge with a move at now would be too early.

: (A 548kkb)
Black captures White single stone at the upper edge.

Continuing with the Main Semeai, e.g. by playing , would not change the final result of the game (White + 2), but enhance the score of the Semeai Variation for White.

, :
Both sides play one move each outside the Main Semeai, therefore this exchange does not affect the outcome of the game.

:
White continues with the usual course of the Main Semeai.

:
Black is able to connect.

:
Black must not destroy another point of potential White territory in the upper right, e.g. by playing , because this would put him below the Punishment Semeai Liberty Level.
