Variations of Our Solution (IIIa)

No Early Kikashi

VAR (.1) (.5) (.1)

: ( 648ay)
White bumps in the left centre - without having played her kikashi in the hanezeki before. This move intends to stop Black from getting any territory below.

:
Black continues with the Main Semeai, and gives atari at White's two stones in the lower left.

Please note that Black is two over par with the Punishment Semeai Liberty level, so White is unable to play any gote move outside the Main Semeai area on her own initiative.

:
White chooses Dany's Sacrifice.

Black is comfortably ahead in the Capture Variation; therefore, connecting with would not really benefit White.

: (A 648ba)
Black continues with the Main Semeai.

The sequence will follow the course that is shown from VAR (.1) (.5) (.1) (.1) ( 648bb) on.

Black does not really want to play his gote kikashi , , in the hanezeki.
This implies that neither side will touch the hanezeki beforeWhite's decision point.
White will start the Semeai Variation by her kikashi , in the hanezeki.
