Variations of Our Solution (IIIa)

No Early Kikashi

VAR (.4) (.1)

: ( 648ki)
White plays her second kikashi in the lower left corner.

Please remember that a White block at is not necessary, as long as the life of Black's large group at the left is at stake.

:
Black must answer from below, because he has not yet a sure eye in the left centre.

:
White's throw-in in the lower left corner pushes Black below the Punishment Semeai Liberty Level. This move creates an approach-move liberty at for her group at the left side.

:
Black gives atari at White's three stones at the top, intending to save his large group at the right.

He might consider saving his group at the left, e.g. by playing the atari at White's two stones in the lower left (that White will not answer), but then Black's larger group at the right will die by White's continuation at .

:
White simplifies the issue by immediately capturing the hanezeki's tail.

:
Black recaptures, as usual.

:
White uses her sente in the lower right corner to erase Black's potential second eye in the left centre.

White will win the game by a large margin.
