Variations of Our Solution (IIIa)

No Early Kikashi

VAR (.4) (.1)

: ( 648ki)
White gives atari at Black's two stones at the left edge.

Please note that we will not update the board's border colour in this subvariation, just because the "usual" Main Semeai will not become effective.

:
Black pushes once again at the top, also giving atari at White's three stones below.

Black is unable to connect with . White would give atari at , so enlarging the ko fight in the left centre, which Black cannot win.

:
White has to capture the hanezeki's tail.
Please note that her loss from dissolving the hanezeki is larger here than usual, because the nakade at the left edge has not been played out, so that she suffers from a lack of additional Black prisoners.

If she connected at , instead, Black would gain by continuing at the upper side.

:
The dissolving of the hanezeki follows the usual path.

...

:
White ends in sente and blocks at the top.

It follows an idea of some moves in an amateurish endgame. We think that Black is uncatchable ahead.

Black will win the game by at least five points.
