Variations of the Professional Solution

VARP (.2)

: ( 730d)
Black continues with the endgame sequence in the top left corner.

: (A 730f)
White occupies a liberty in the Main Semeai.
Black must not end in gote outside the Main Semeai, as White would get two moves in a row inside, so winning the game with ease.
Neither must Black connect his pivotal hasami-tsuke stone (if the case that he has chosen this alternative option), as this would also lose a move in the Main Semeai.
This implies that Black has no chance at all to prevent any of White's endgame moves on the left side of the board.

However, White must not continue the endgame at the left side of the board with a move at in the lower left corner.

It results a change in the order of moves with our variation of the Professional Solution ( 751), wherein the tsuke of Yamada Shinji is played.
Please remember that – with the "usual" course of the Professional Solution – playing the Hasami-Tsuke Sequence, instead of the classical simple push and sagari, does not have a territorial effect on the top right corner ( 738).

, :
After the reduction of White's upper right corner, White and Black continue with the mutual occupation of liberties in the Main Semeai.

White will win the game by two points.
