Black Must Force White to Follow

the Course of Our Solution

KataGo recommended answering from above with Black , forcing White to connect at (the throw-in at is no longer possible).
This is also an atari at Black's oversized nakade, so Black has to complete the shape with .
Locally, White wants to capture at , while Black wants to capture at .

Black Must Not Capture

Just now, Black is unable to capture White's single stone with a move at .

White throws-in at , forcing Black to capture at .

Finally, White is a double-atari, securing life for White's large group at the left.
The entire right half of the board is White's territory now, so she wins the game by a large margin.

Black Wants to Fool White,

but Is Tricked Himself

Black completes the shape of his nakade at the left edge. This group has two liberties now, so White is unable to capture it immediately.

Black hopes for a White answer at , so that he can capture "late" at .

However, White will not do him this favour, but capture at herself.

Due to Black's just won second liberty for his nakede stones, the forcing sequence from White to Black does not contain a fatal threat any longer, because White is unable to give atari at .

Black might want to take the large endgame point at the top with , but he should have better defended his hidden weaknesses in the centre, e.g. with a move at .

White's move at takes Black by surprise. White not threatens the cutting sequence from to , where after and are miai for capturing a large number of Black stones in the left centre.

Black protects his cutting point, but White captures some of Black's stones anyway, starting with her move at .

White does not need to capture the tail, and so will win the game by a very large margin.
