About Approach-Move Liberties (2009)

[ Sacrificing White's two stones

has the same effect ]

Not answering Black's kikashi locally has a similar effect on White.

If White lets Black capture her two stones, ....

... Black will have gained two prisoners, and one liberty. Here again, Black has eight liberties, six direct liberties (5 * , ), and two approach-move liberties (Black has an eye, so these are real, not potential).

We marked the direct liberty, Black has won by White's sub-optimal (as far as only the semeai, and nothing else, is concerned) answer with "".

A sequence to take Black's group off the board.
