Black started the reduction of White's upper right corner ( / ) extremely late.

This gives White the chance to play Tenuki (instead of answering with the usual move ) after Black's second reduction-move () for capturing Black's Nakade-stones with .

Please note that Black's line of play in the Nakade-Sequence (both lower moves first) would have been a mistake had White previously defended with Q17 () in the top-right corner and the Guzumi-Exchange had not yet taken place. The order of moves is very important here!

Black has already played the two upper moves within the Nakade-Sequence at the left edge.

White may play the first three moves within the sequence for reducing Black's territory in the upper left corner (including Yamada's Tsuke) at any time she likes, as these three moves are absolut Sente.

Black plays the Guzumi extremely late, what gives White the opportunity to capture Black's Nakade with at the left edge (instead of answering with , as usual.

Variation Type White Q17D7

White had chosen the P18-line within the territory-reducing sequence ( / ) in her upper right corner.

Black has already played the first upper move within the Nakade-Sequence at the left edge.

Black plays the Guzumi extremely late, what gives White the opportunity to play KataGo's Atari in the Nakade "early" (instead of answering with , as usual).

White inserted Yamada's Tsuke between these two moves here, which is absolute Sente.
