Variations of Our Solution (IIIb)

Tricking KataGo (Triple-Ko)

VAR (C) (A) (.2) (.2) (.1)

(.1)

: ( 222ce)
Black protects his territory in the left centre, also continuing with the Main Semeai.

:
White plays the hane at the upper edge that sets the scene for the ko fight in the upper left corner.

:
White connects.

She might have continued with the Main Semeai first, erasing Black's ko threats against her groups in the centre and the upper right.

Ko: ; ; ; ;

:
White is ready to capture the hanezeki's tail, so she is able to split the Nakade Sequence, in order to generate additional ko threats.

:
Black's throw-in torpedoes her intent.

:
But White turns the approach-move ko into a direct one in return.

:
Black has to answer White's threat, because he cannot get more than a seki in the upper left corner.

Ko: ; ; ; ; ;

:
White answers Black's ko threat, because Black's large group at the right has too many liberties left.

Even if she captured Black's stones in the upper left corner, she would have to capture the hanezeki's tail anyway, if her bottom group were reduced to only one eye.

:
Black does not have any viable ko threat left.

:
White gives atari at Black's stones below and will capture these with later.

White does not need to capture the hanezeki's tail, while Black's large group at the right still cannot get more than only one eye.

White will win the game by a very large margin.
