Variations of Our Solution (IIIb)

Tricking KataGo (Triple-Ko)

VAR (C) (A) (.2) (.2) (.2)

(.2)

: ( 222dw)
Black gives atari in the upper left corner.

:
White connects her single stone in the right centre, making it impossible for Black got get an eye for his large group in this area.

: (A 222dy)
Black is forced to continue with the Main Semeai.

It is too late now to give the atari at the top, instead. White would simply ignore it.

Ko: ; ; ;

:
Having erased all of Black's viable ko threats at the right side of the board, White arms the ko fight in the upper right corner.

:
Black starts the ko fight.

No valiable ko threats => White would capture Black's cut-off stones (after he occupied White's upper liberty to give atari)

:
Black connects in the upper left, so terminating the ko fight.

There are no viable ko threats left for him. If he continued the fight, White would capture his cut-off stones after he occupied the last outside liberty of White's left-hand group, to give atari at the top.

Continuing with the Central Semeai is useless as well. Black's large group at the right has only three outside liberties left, and so no chance at all to win the Central Semeai.

At the left, White's group is three liberties () away from reaching her decision point.

At the right, Black's large group has only nine liberties left. White will win the Punishment Semeai.

White will win the game by a very large margin.
