Black threatens to reduce White's bottom group to only one eye.

:
White gives atari at Black's cut-off stones in the upper left corner, so ending the ko fight.

She would no longer be able to win the game, if she answered Black's ko threat with , instead.

:
Black inserts his kikashi in the hanezeki.

If he did without, White would occupy the point of at her own, so gaining two points.

:
Black reduces White's bottom group to only one eye, so starting the Bottom Semeai.

:
The mutual occupation of opponent's liberties starts.

:
Black continues with taking White's liberties.

It would not make a difference, if he connected at instead. At the upper edge, and would follow. And again, White needed one move to occupy Black's liberties there.

:
The Bottom Semeai is already decided, so White starts the endgame at the left side of the board "early".

It's White's turn now.

Black's large group in the upper right has seven liberties () left, while White's bottom group still has four liberties (, ). We have reached White's decision point in this Bottom Semeai.
White's group is much smaller than Black's, so White will choose the Semeai Variation and occupy the seventh liberty of Black's group. Black will connect the hanezeki's tail, and both sides will capture their opponent's group.

In the upper left, White will capture Black's cut-off stones with , and also win the final endgame ko by connecting at .

White will win the game by 31 points.
