VAR (C) (A) (.2) (.2)

: ( 222ev)

:
It follows the well-known sequence in the upper left corner.

:
The endgame continues in the lower left.

:
Black takes the opportunity to occupy to defend his position in the upper left corner, instead of connecting his stone at the lower edge.

: (A 222ex C 222ey)
White's wedge in the left centre is advantageous for her, even if Black has captured her two stones in the lower left before.

Immediately playing KataGo's bad-shape move at would be too unimaginative. Black would be able to block immediately with here.

:
Now the time has come for the bad-shape move in the left centre.
Please note that this move does not lose a tempo in the Main Semeai, due to Black's forthcoming shortage of liberties in that area.

:
Black has to defend this cutting point - sooner or later.

Black must not play any reduction.

After her decision point, White will connect at at the upper edge. Black will push at , forcing White to block with .
