White would cut at , locally investing only one move, instead of two moves (, ) here. The effect of Black's tenuki on the Main Semeai Liberties would become zero.

At the moment of White's decision point, Black's large group in the upper right will have only six liberties (), and so fall prey to the Punishment Semeai.

White will win the game by a large margin.
