Here, White captures the single Black stone. This is also shown in the theory chapter as FLAG 7a1 ( 1029).

Again, White has one eye only. However, the ko-shape on the upper edge brought her an additional liberty. So we can expect that White will win the semeai unconditionally.

Black is unable to connect the hanezeki's tail, instead. White's centre group has more than five liberties, and will win the semeai with Black's connected group on the lower edge.

But now, Black's group is below the Punishment Semeai Liberty Level (7 * x), so Black has no other option than to play this move yet.

White wins the semeai by one move.
