After White has filled in her false eyes, Black should occupy the outside liberties of White's group. He should keep his flexibility to ideally reach a situation, in which White (after Black has connected the hanezeki' tail, with here) has no moves left to occupy outside liberties of Black's group in the top left.

In contrast to the main line of this variation, White needs one "real" ko-threat to win.
