Black continues with blocking from the right.

:
Black secures life for his group now, and has simultaneously won a decisive move in the semeai on the right side of the board. However, White gained points in the upper left corner, and so is not forced to fight this semeai any more, as in the main line of this sub-variation.

:
White now takes points while threatening the liberty count of Black's group in the upper right. Black must follow White, because he cannot afford to lose the just won move.

:
Sooner or later, before Black has the chance to connect at successfully, White simply captures the hanezeki's tail, and so avoids any complications.

:
White can do so in sente, and captures the entire left side of the board.

:
Finally, Black's lower right corner is much too small, and White will win the game by about ten points.

Please remember that Black's group in the upper right has only one eye, so Black must take all of White's stones in the hanezeki off the board.

White wins by twelve points.
