VAR (C) (B) (A)

: ( 231)
White reduces the size of Black's eye.

: (102 349; 103 350)
Black establishes the shape of a shared ko in the centre. This is also shown in the theory chapter as FLAG 8a ( 1036).
Moves at , or , instead, will give a similar result.

Ko:

:
White start the ko at the moment, when her centre group has five effective liberties left.

: (A 351)
If White filled-in her second false eye with a move at , instead, she could shorten the sequence.

:
Black has run out of ko-threats. This move is no valid ko-threat, because White's centre group has more than three effective liberties.

:
White simply connects the ko.

:
Eventually, White re-captures the central ko, and wins the semeai.
