Variations of Our Solution (II)

Black will not benefit from choosing this hiki.

In principle, the marked exchange in the top right corner is also played in those sub-variations of Joachim's Ko-Semeai, where Black gets a larger eye for his top right group. Thus, it is not likely that Black will win here.

Please note that we have not yet thoroughly checked, whether we will still have to synchronise this section with those on Joachim's Ko-Semeai that can be found earlier in this book.

White badly needs the reduction of Black's top left corner to win the game unconditionally, but she will be unable to succeed.

:
White must resort to an "early" ko again - and sail around a sudden cliff - after playing immediately on the left, at , instead. This is her only path to win the game.

:
Black's stone at is already in place. Thus, White cannot consider to enter the ko-variations successfully.

:
Black must save his nakade stones on the left, instead.

:
Compared to the matchable sub-variation that has been shown earlier ( 273), White gained two points of territory in the upper right corner (), while Black gained one point of territory in the right centre (). So White is one point better than with the reference sub-variation.

White will win by two points.
