Variations of Our Solution (IIIa)

No Early Kikashi

VAR (.4)

: ( 648aa)
White forces in the corner, without having played the exchange of for before.

: (A 648ki; B 648kp)
Black plays KataGo's solid connection.

Forcing with at the top just now will end in a disaster for Black. Simply answering in the lower left corner by connecting at will be two points worse overall for him.

: (A 648ks; B 648kt)
White's second kikashi in the lower left corner comes too late.

Playing in the left centre. e. g. with pushing at , or wedging at , instead, will result in the same final scores.

:
Black has a sure eye in the centre already, so he is able to connect at at the edge, instead of at at the second line.

Please note that this move does not gain a liberty in the Main Semeai here.
Black is unable to approach White's left-hand group in the lower left corner with a move at , due to White's atari at , so he has to connect (e.g.) at before.

:
White pushes from above.

:
White connects her single stone at the upper edge.

:
Black pushes at the top.

Black plays 4/4 reductions.

Please assume the rejection of Dany's Sacrifice and Black's second kikashi in the hanezeki (, ) played before.
