Black occupies a liberty of White's large group at the left, so continuing with the Main Semeai.

White captures in one of the ko, threatening to utilise Black's shortage of liberties at the left.

Black's connection of his two stones is one option for defence.

White captures the other ko.

Black's solid connection is a simple way of play.

White plays her kikashi in the lower left corner, before ...

... connecting her single stone at the upper edge.

Black plays his remaining kikashi.

Black must not let the two ko in the left centre unsettled until after White's decision point. Therefore, he captures one of these.

White connects the other one.

Black connects the remaining ko.

We have reached a change in the order of moves with the superordinate variation.

White will win both Main Variations by two points.
