No Early Kikashi

VAR (.1) (.2)

: ( 648mk)
Black defends his territory in the lower left corner.

Please note that we will not update the board's border colour in this subvariation, just because the Main Semeai will not become effective.

:
White gives atari at Black's two stones at the left edge.

:
Black must connect, as he cannot afford White letting capture these stones.

:
White's stones are in atari, so she has to capture the nakade.

:
White gives atari at Black's group below.

:
Black has to recapture the ko, because he is unable to connect at (White would capture at ).

:
White is ready to capture the hanezeki's tail anyway; therefore she is able to split the Nakade Sequence, in order to get additional ko threats.

; ; :
White keeps things simple here by answering Black's ko threats at the top.

:
White simplifies the game by capturing Black's stones in the left centre, letting Black live small at the right.

:
White does not need to capture the hanezeki's tail (and so does not lose about 25 points), so Black lacks any compensation for his big loss at the left side.

White will win the game by a large margin.
