Variations of Our Solution (IIIb)

No Early Kikashi

VAR (.3)

: ( 649aa)
Black starts with the atari in the hanezeki here.

:
Black's second kikashi in the hanezeki follows.

: (124 649af ; A 649am)
Black plays KataGo's solid connection in the left centre.

Playing Joachim's tenuki, instead, in order to capture White's single stone in the upper right, will not affect the oerall result of the game, but Black will suffer in the Semeai Variation, due to Dany's Ko in the left centre.

Black might play his kikashi at at the top just now, but would have to connect at anyway, due to the reason mentioned above.

:
White connects her single stone in the right centre in return, stopping Black from capturing it.

:
Black captures White's single stone at the upper edge.

We have reached a change in the order of moves with the superordinate variation.
KataGo would play now, continuing with the Main Semeai in the upper right corner.

However, White would be two points better in the Semeai Variation, if she took profit outside the Main Semeai area, instead, e.g. by connecting at , pre-empting Black's push at the same point.

The final scores of the game will become White + 2 / Black + 4.
