(Referenced by 25; 496; 753)

:
The tsuke of Yamada Shinji locally gains one additional point, compared to the move at in the Capture Variation of Fujisawa Hideyuki's solution. Here Black must answer with , and cannot resist at ( 560). This tsuke is possible, when it is guaranteed that White's -stones on the left side are securely alive (as they are here, after capturing Black's centre group).

:
White gets the last valuable move, because the new endgame gives her sente, and she gets one point of territory at .

In the top left corner, Black loses one point (), compared to Fujisawa Hideyuki's Capture Variation. is balanced by the White stone captured at .

Combined with the oki, White wins by two points now, after capturing Black's centre group.

Therefore, it is necessary for Black to find a way to prevent White from choosing this variation. Please take notice that this result does not include Black's 71st stone, which would add another point to White's score.
