The Correct Timing for Starting the Endgame

The second defect found by Prof. Jeong relates to the correct timing for starting the endgame on the left side. Prof. Jeong proposes to do this as early as move , because White has already securely captured Black's top right group at this moment. The "usual" semeai sequence then continues with on the right.

We followed Prof. Jeong's suggestion in the end of 2012, after our decision to re-build the book's structure; but at the earlier moment, when Black played his first gote move (not after his second one, as shown here).
