Variations of Our Solution (IIIa)

No Early Kikashi

VAR (.1) (.4)

: ( 648cx)
White prevents Black's kikashi in the hanezeki.
Please remember that this move is gote locally.

: (A 648dc; B 648dd; C 648de)
Black has to give atari in the left centre.

Either playing his gote atari in the hanezeki, or immediately capturing White's two stones in the lower left, or capturing White's single stone at the upper edge will be worse for Black.

: ( 129 648df; D 648dg; C 648dh)
White chooses Dany's Ko.

White will be unable to connect Dany's Ko and to connect her single stone at the upper edge with a move at , so she might simplify the issue by connecting at , instead of fighting the ko. Quite surprisingly, she will gain one point in the Capture Variation.
She might also block at , or at , immediately, achieving the same final scores as herein.

Please note that White's move, which is played outside the Main Semeai area, does not create an approach-move liberty at E here, just because Black is able to capture at B.

: (D 648di; B 648dj
Black captures the ko for the first time.

Black might consider pushing with at the top first, and capture at in the lower left thereafter. He will achieve the same final scores as here, without fighting the ko in the centre.
Immediately capturing White's two stones in the lower left, is also possible, but a bit trickier to calculate.

: (136 648dk)
White completes the Nakade Sequence.

She might consider trying Dany's suggestion of splitting the Nakade Sequence, but will be unable to enhance her result.

: (137 648dm; A 648do)
White recaptures the ko.

She might consider blocking at , instead, achieving the same final scores.
As several moves earlier, connecting her single stone at the upper edge is also possible for her.

:
Playing Black's remaining kikashi at the top first simplifies the issue.

: (A 648dp)
Black captures in the lower left.

Continuing the ko fight by recapturing with is possible, but pointless.
In addition, it is not unlike that Black might fall into the trap of using "real" ko threats that must be answered locally by White.

: (A 648dr)
White connects her single stone at the upper edge.

Alternatively, White might consider connecting Dany's Ko; the final scores will remain unaffected.

:
Black recaptures the ko for the last time.

(Referenced by 648di; 648do)

:
White is unable to connect the ko, therefore fighting it any longer will be pointless.
She continues with the Main Semeai, instead.

:
White must play her kikashi in the hanezeki.

Otherwise, Black will gain by playing his gote atari at .

:
Eventually, Black connects in the left centre.

Black plays 0/1 reduction.
